As the Managing Director of the company I am responsible in directing and controlling the Company’s operations and ensuring that the Company achieves its mission and objectives.

As the owner and director of the company I am always enthusiastic about the company and what we can achieve. Our ethos is to provide a flexible and dynamic solution on behalf of our business partners by listening to our partners and understanding that our service is a reflection of the services that they provide to their customers.

As the Head of New Business my role involves me promoting the products and services of the company to new business partners. I have previously been employed in similar roles throughout the medico-legal sector and it is refreshing to work for such a flexible and dynamic team as we have at Medical Reports Ltd.

The company has a strict mantra that the customer comes first and strives to achieve the best outcome for the customer by placing the customer at the centre of everything that we do.

With an extensive database of experts in every discipline it is rare that we cannot offer a solution to our business partners.

I find it refreshing to know that the team behind constantly overachieve on the promises that I make to new business partners which is reflected in the feedback that I receive from our business partners when managing their account.

Richard Fotiadis

Chief Medical Officer

I qualified in London in 1996 and initially trained in surgery and orthopaedics followed by general practice. I am a practicing general practitioner within both the NHS and private sector and have extensive medico-legal experience with respect to the areas of both personal injury and medical negligence.

Additionally I am a GP appraiser and a medical member of the Ministry of Justice tribunals service. I am a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of General Practitioners. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health.

His Role at Medical Reports involves him:-

Ensuring Medical Reports Ltd is compliant with MedCo’s rules and regulations with regard to the medical practitioners Instructed by Medical Reports Ltd.

Participating and planning for new services, revisions to current services and assisting in developing programs related to improving standards in the production of expert reports and evidence.

Assisting Medical Reports Ltd in the education of its own employees in the duties and requirements of its’ expert panel with specific reference to the Civil Procedure Rules and MedCo compliance.

Appraising a random selection of reports, provided by medical practitioners instructed by Medical Reports Ltd, for their independence, quality and compliance.

Assisting the Board of Medical Reports Ltd and advising them on issues which may arise regarding the employ-ability of medical practitioners on their panel and assisting in ensuring that all medical practitioners comply with the rules of MedCo and obtain and maintain accreditation under the MeCo scheme.

Offering an independent view on the conduct, quality, independence and opinion given in specific reports where a complaint is made against the medical expert by the Claimant or Instructing Party.

Karen Robinson

Multi Track and Complex Case Handler

I joined Medical Reports Ltd in August 2002 as a part-time administrator, during my time at MRL I have gained a thorough knowledge and understanding of the medico-legal industry.  I am currently responsible for instructions in respect of Clinical Negligence, Multi-Track and Noise Induced Hearing Loss cases. With over 13 years’ experience in the sector I have had to adapt to the many changes that have occurred over the years.

Having come from an administrative background gained whilst working for the armed forces I have been able to assist Medical Reports Ltd in establishing robust processes and procedures that have stood the company well over the years.

I am also the company’s HR manager and am actively involved in the recruitment and training of new employees to the company.

I started work at MRL in September 2007 and joined a small friendly team who are dedicated to providing excellent medical reports to solicitors and clients alike, In January 2015 I was appointed Team Leader to manage a new team dedicated to Medco. In the 7 years I’ve worked for MRL the technology has advanced somewhat and we are now able to instruct and arrange medical appointments at the click of a button. My team prides itself of quality and time efficient reports, we constantly exceed our SLA’s and will always ensure the client is happy with the medical appointment arranged, the team will follow-up every appointment until the report has been returned. I have built up a good relationship with our medical experts and actively search for new experts to keep our panel current. I am also the company’s Caldicott Guardian responsible for protecting the confidentiality of clients information and enabling appropriate information sharing.

Both roles are challenging but exciting, I am looking forward to helping this company grow.

In January 2015 I joined Medical Reports Ltd. I am responsible for the administration of medico-legal work which includes liaising with solicitors and medical experts in order to facilitate a comprehensive and efficient service to our clients who require expert reports on their injuries. I value that here at medical reports we respect our customers, I am always here to listen, to offer ongoing support throughout the process of a claim, and to deliver the customer an excellent experience as to us customer satisfaction is key. I come from a background of customer service having worked in various roles in this field for more than twenty years, in 2014 I graduated from Warwick University, through my degree I gained the knowledge and understanding of the impact of economic and political trends on educational policy and practice; inclusion and diversity, safeguarding and the data protection act. I developed skills such as teamwork, ICT ability, critical thinking and problem solving.

Sarah Burr

I started working for MRL in 2006 following my employment at a college. Working in different areas of the company in the past 9 years has given me a varied and extensive knowledge of procedures and has helped me in many problem solving situations. I have worked on fast track cases, industrial disease (particularly noise induced hearing loss) and clinical negligence cases, in accounts and as an IT administrator programming the proclaim software to make our processes run smoothly and to our specification. Following maternity leave in 2009 I came back to work part time in order to enhance my work life balance and play the main role in bringing up my son. I enjoy talking with clients, solicitors and experts alike in order to ensure the smooth running of medico-legal cases and find great satisfaction in overcoming challenging situations.

I joined Medical Reports Ltd in May 2015 and I am currently employed as a Case Handler which involves receiving instructions from solicitors in relation to RTA and personal injury claims and assisting both solicitors and their clients in relation to finding an expert who can assist with both arranging an appointment and examining the client in relation to their accident and then forwarding the completed medical report to the solicitors to assist with the clients claim. I was originally recommended for this position by a business associate of Ben Elsom (Managing Director – Medical Reports Ltd) and originally came from an Accounts Payable back ground, so this position was completely out of my comfort zone, but I can honestly say that I have settled in really well and become an important member of a small and friendly team.

I joined Medical Reports Ltd as Financial Controller in May 2015. In this role, I am responsible for providing effective financial leadership to a finance team, to enable strategic foresight into the business and also provide knowledgeable and accurate information to colleagues and senior management.

Prior to joining Medical Reports Ltd, I held several junior to semi-senior accounts and finance related positions within the Retail and Engineering sector from 2011 to 2015.

I have completed all of my exams papers and became ACCA passed finalist in February 2015 and I am   currently working toward becoming a Chartered Certified Accountant within the next 12 months.

I deal with general emails and post, scanning them onto our Proclaim system. I enjoy working at Medical Reports LTD as it is a small friendly environment to work in and my colleagues have all been very welcoming towards me.

I joined Medical Reports Ltd very recently as the accounts assistant. My role is to maintain the day to day book keeping such as; processing purchase and sales invoices, overseeing petty cash, recording payments received and addressing financial queries from our suppliers and solicitors. I am currently studying towards my AAT accountancy qualification, and working at Medical Reports Ltd is contributing to my studies in a very positive way. I have settled into the team very well as everyone is so supportive and friendly.

Rebecca Hanlon

I first joined MRL in 2005 as an office junior after just finishing my A-Levels at college. Over the next 10 years I watched the company grow, not only in terms of instructions and customers but in knowledge and branching into specialist fields. I took a keen interest in Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) claims and began to learn more about this field which enabled me to help develop “schemes”. These “schemes” were designed to make a quick diagnosis of NIHL and keep the costs low for our instructing solicitors. I was also responsible for MRLs medical expert panel. In 2015 I made the difficult decision to leave MRL to continue my personal growth, by this time I had also enrolled in University studying towards my CILEx diploma in Law and Practice. During my absence from MRL, I worked in the personal injury department as a paralegal for both a claimant and a defendant law firm. In January 2017 I re-joined MRL bringing with me first-hand knowledge of what is needed from an MRO, what MRL can do to go the extra mile for their instructing solicitor and offer insight into how a claim is ran. I now work as the company’s Operations Liaison Officer as well as the company’s Complaints Officer.

I joined the team at MRL in April 2009. Whilst my role involved undertaking a variety of multitrack cases, (RTA & Personal injury) I specifically dealt with industrial disease cases, particularly Noise Induced Hearing loss. This role involved receiving instructions from solicitors, arranging screening appointments in preparation of examination with medical experts, the assessment of audiograms and obtaining medical reports.

I left the company in 2012 to have my daughter and have recently returned on a full time basis now that my daughter has started school. I continue to be heavily involved with Industrial deafness cases and multitrack cases alike and I am delighted to return to the industry that I thrive on.
